What is Sundo?
Sundo is an ancient Qi-Gong practice from the mountains of Korea. It is a Taoist practice, so it is aligned with principles of Taoist philosophy. Sundo trains us to bring harmony between our body, mind, emotions, and spirit. In doing so, Sundo leads us towards a life of peace and inner balance, rooted in our original essence.
At the core of Sundo is a unique meditation practice that involves slow, deep abdominal breathing, while moving through a sequence of poses every 2-3 minutes. This section is at the center of the practice and lasts about 35 minutes. Each practice also includes 15-20 minutes of warm-up and cool-down exercises that work on strength and flexibility, prepare the body for meditation, and send the gathered vital energy through the body after meditation.
Sundo is a practice of inner cultivation and healing. It is a powerful and effective way to build vitality in the body, while also developing a calm and peaceful inner center. By bringing the breath to its original natural location in our low abdomen, Sundo helps us develop ease and harmony in our body and life. With consistent practice we gain a strong and vital body, resilient and focused mind, and a free and spontaneous spirit.

Sundo Changed My Life
I was introduced to Sundo in November 2019. At that point I have already been deeply committed to living a healthy and conscious life-style, and have been able to make many significant improvements in my health through diet, exercise, time in nature, and prayer. Yet some challenges persisted. Though I have tried a few forms of meditation and inner cultivation practices, I have not yet found anything that resonated enough to commit to. That changed with one practice of Sundo. I could intuitively tell right away that the abdominal breath-work that the Sundo meditative practice is centered around, is the key I have been missing.
Since that day I've stayed committed to Sundo and have been practicing 5-6 times a week. The healing changes that I have experienced through my 3.5 years of practice are amazing. I didn't believe my teachers when they were saying that various chronic issues I have suffered from my whole life, such as weak digestion, severe menstrual cramps, and a hyper-vigilant nervous system, were truly going to shift. But they did, and my health continues to grow in radiance as I keep deepening into my practice. I am also strongest, most resilient, calmest, and most joyful I've ever been!
In Summer of 2021, as I received my red belt (fourth level) in Sundo, I was also honored to become a certified instructor.
Currently I only offer Sundo through private lessons, which can be in-person or remote.
