"Compassion is the ultimate value in life.
Service is the ultimate action."
- Jonathan Lockwood Huie
One of my core values and essential ways of being is a deep commitment to service. I regularly engage in pro bono work to serve those people who are in great need of healing work, but are not in a position to pay for it. Below you can read about my past and current volunteer engagements.
Additionally, I reserve space in my practice for sliding scale and trade options. This offering is for those people who are deeply committed to their healing journey, are ready and willing to put in the time and soul-level work needed to improve their health, but are unable to pay full session price. Please email or call to inquire.
My Pro Bono Involvements
Walnut ave Women's Center
A project I seeded, with the helpful assistance of the center's staff. Three women that are service recipients through the center have come in for 7 consecutive sessions of Craniosacral therapy. These women are dealing with a range of difficulties associated with abusive relationships. We are currently seeking funding to continue and expand the project. If you have any interest in supporting this work, please contact me.

Livity Rising Mobile Clinics
A Santa Cruz volunteer-based group, led by Melissa Manning Collins, that provides various body and energy therapies to underprivileged populations in our communities. My first time volunteering with this fantastic group of healers was at the Project Homeless Connect, which took place May 24th 2016 at the Kaiser Permanente Arena. A group of about 6 of us, a mix of bodyworkers and energy healers, stayed busy giving healing touch to the many people who came seeking services. A deeply gratifying experience all around.
Since then I have participated in a number of other wellness clinics, including serving veterans at Cabrillo College, 'Day of Peace' at the Tannery, Veterans Remembrance Day at the Museum of Art & History, and more.

India trip 2015 - New Light
In December 2015 I had the tremendous honor of joining one of my greatest inspirations and major forces in humanitarian work around the world, Vijali Hamilton. We both volunteered with the exceptional non-profit organization, New Light India, based in West Bengal, Kolkata, led by Urmi Basu. New Light provides services to Kolkata's sex-workers and their children. The women trapped in this line of work have often been sold into it at a young age, and have never had the chance to develop any other skills, or allowed to believe they can do anything else to support their survival. The organization provides housing, food, education, and emotional support to the children that otherwise are on the streets, neglected, and exposed to the profoundly damaging and traumatic life they were born into. It also provides health services and vocational training to the women.
My work included bodywork services out of the organization's tiny and poor free clinic, as well as teaching the work to the other health workers. I also had the pleasure to share my other big passion - dance, with the children and young women cared for by New Light.

Tannery, Santa Cruz, Summer 2015
During that time our community suffered a great tragedy and loss. I was one of many healers and workers who have contributed their time and skill to help the residents of the Tannery, and the community at large, to heal.
